Good to Know

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your visit to Nollaig.

How long will we spend in Nollaig the Experience?

Most families spend around 75 minutes with us. There’s plenty of time to explore Nollaig, meet its wonderful residents and enjoy your family’s visit with Father Christmas. This is your adventure, so there’s no need to rush.

When should we arrive?

We recommend arriving around 10 minutes before your booked timeslot. This gives you plenty of time to park, check in and make your way to the gates of Nollaig the Experience before your journey begins.

Is parking available?

Yes. Free parking is available at our dedicated guest parking area at the former Beamish & Crawford Brewery, just a short walk from Elizabeth Fort. Our team will be there to welcome you, direct vehicles and help you on your way.

Where will we find Nollaig?

Your journey begins at Elizabeth Fort, Barrack Street, Cork, T12 C8A0.

Follow the signs on arrival and our team will guide you the rest of the way.

Will we meet Father Christmas?

Yes. Every family will enjoy a personal visit with Father Christmas as part of their journey through Nollaig the Experience. There’ll be time to chat, share a special moment together and create memories you’ll treasure for years to come.

Will every child receive a gift?

Yes. Every child who visits Father Christmas will receive a special Christmas gift, included with their ticket.

Can we help make our visit more personal?

Absolutely. When booking your visit, you’ll have the opportunity to tell us a little about your child, from their hobbies and interests to something they’ve achieved this year. Wherever possible, Father Christmas will naturally weave these details into your conversation, making every visit feel personal and unique.

What if my child is feeling shy?

Every child experiences Christmas differently, and that’s perfectly okay.

Our residents will always follow your child’s lead, giving them the time and space they need to feel comfortable. There is never any pressure to interact, and some of the most magical moments happen quietly.

Can we take photographs?

Of course. You’re welcome to take photographs throughout your journey, including during your visit with Father Christmas.

If you’d like a professionally captured family portrait, our official photography partner, Envisage Photography, will be on hand with Father Christmas. Professional photographs are offered as an optional third-party service and are available to purchase separately.

Will there be refreshments?

Yes. Every adult will be welcomed with a complimentary mulled wine, while every child will receive a complimentary hot chocolate to enjoy during their visit.

There are no additional food vendors on site.

Are there toilets on site?

Yes. Accessible toilet facilities are available during your visit.

Is Nollaig suitable for prams and wheelchairs?

Yes. We warmly welcome prams, wheelchairs and mobility aids wherever possible. As Elizabeth Fort is a historic site, some pathways and surfaces are naturally uneven.

If you’d like to discuss your visit before arriving, our Guest Services Team will be delighted to help.

Do you offer a sensory-friendly session?

Yes. Our dedicated Sensory Friendly Session takes place on Sunday 29th November at 9:00am.

This special session has reduced visitor numbers, lower sound levels and a gentler pace, giving families more time to enjoy their journey through Nollaig the Experience.

Are assistance dogs welcome?

Yes. Recognised assistance dogs are welcome throughout the experience.

Unfortunately, other pets are unable to visit Nollaig the Experience.

What should we wear?

Nollaig the Experience can be wonderfully crisp at Christmas. As parts of your journey take place outdoors, we recommend wrapping up warmly and wearing comfortable footwear suitable for winter weather and the historic pathways of Elizabeth Fort.

What happens if it rains?

Christmas carries on in all sorts of weather, and so do we. As some parts of your journey take place outdoors, please dress appropriately for the conditions. In the unlikely event that severe weather affects the experience, we’ll contact you as soon as possible.

Can I amend or transfer my booking?

Bookings can be amended or transferred, subject to availability and in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Can grandparents and other family members join us?

Of course. Nollaig has been created for the whole family to enjoy together. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends are all welcome to share in the adventure.

Some of the best Christmas memories are made across generations.

Are electric vehicle charging points available?

There are no EV charging facilities on site. However, several public charging points are available nearby in Cork City Centre.

How can we contact you?

If you have any questions before your visit, we’d love to hear from you. Email us at sales@nollaigsantaexperience.ie.

Do the Woodland Guardians really choose the children?

Around here, we’d say they do. Every Woodland Guardian has their own quiet way of finding the child they’re meant to journey home with. No one in Nollaig the Experience has ever quite worked out how they choose... they simply always seem to.

You’ll have to wait and see who finds you.

Is Nollaig the Experience real?

We certainly think so. For generations, families have found their way through the ancient gates of Elizabeth Fort and discovered a place unlike anywhere else. Whether you leave believing in Nollaig is something only you can decide.
